Fine Art Forgery
The Classic Van Gogh painting Head of a Skeleton Burning a Cigarette is perhaps a commentary on the brevity of a life with the all-too-common crutch of tobacco abuse portrayed in a rather conspicuous manner. I sought to recreate this painting with the use of easily available props that any person could find in their home. I had officially settled on the use of a demonstrative faux cadaver sourced from a local artisanal joint in our very own Glacier High School known as The Biology Lab. for the feminized cigar I had stumbled upon a tortillion blender that was bestowed unto me by the ever gracious and wickedly talented Mr. Cummings, of the Glacier varietal. After some adjustment of the white balance on certain elements of my take on the Gogh Painting along with a removal of the apparatus holding the bones together in a post-processing software known to few, I was left with a product that is recognizably an attempt to recreate Van Gogh's original piece.
